We are pleased to announce the arrival of Lesley Halliwell who is a family law specialist with over 25 years experience.
On the merger of the 2 firms Lesley Halliwell Solicitors of Belgrave Square Darwen and Acklam Bond Noor in June 2011 we increased the specialised facilities we can provide.
We are now able to provide private funded and legal aided family advice and support as necessary and you will find our charges competitive. We also allow flexible arrangements for payment.
If you are in receipt of passported benefits such as Income Support or Pension Guaranteed Credits or you have a low income then you may qualify for public funding and we would be happy to assess you on production of the necessary evidence of your means.
Our specialist services include: Divorce, Children issues, Injunctions, Ancillary relief orders and pre-nuptial agreements.
If you are planning on living with your partner we would be happy to advise you about the implications and set up a deed to make proper and safe arrangements rather than leaving things to chance. You have limited access to the court on the distribution of assets in the event that you separate or there is a death.
We would also advise you about making a will to appoint guardians to act in the event of your death for any child under the age of 18 and the setting up of a trust fund for your dependant children.
If you are a grand parent or other family member you may on occasions need help and advise regarding contact to a grandchild or sometimes an application to the courts for a Residence Order may be necessary. We are happy to assist.
We are able to conduct cases using the Collaborative Process. This is a cost effective and calming way of dealing with family issues as it involves both parties to a broken relationship witting with their collaborative lawyer together agreeing not to go to court except by agreement and working out arrangements that suit them. This type of work can be beneficial to all manner of family issues including arranging the future of your children and sorting out the finances on the dissolution of your relationship.
Remember our initial 30 minute interview is free of charge and we will during this meeting work out the costs scheme that suits you, give you general advise on the conduct of your case and likely timescale and leave you free to make your own decision as to whether to proceed.
